Capital Pacific once again attended the largest commercial real estate conference in the US: The 2011 International Council of Shopping Centers Real Estate Convention (ICSC RECon). Our strong presence was highlighted by our new, sleek booth design showcasing this year’s theme: “a refreshing approach.” Eleven of our agents attended and the booth was packed with meetings with buyers, owners and developers from across the US. The energy was apparent from the 30,000 attendees that this year’s conference symbolized optimism and confidence, a welcome departure from the sentiments which pervaded some of the previous RECon events.
The feeling of recovery was in the air due to several insights from financial professionals who spoke at the show telling audiences that secondary and tertiary U.S. cities that have yet to benefit from growing availability of real estate capital might get a relief soon, as competitive pressures force lenders to seek opportunities outside major markets.
This year’s ICSC conference indicated a promising future for the commercial retail market. As always, Capital Pacific will continue to work hard and to deliver unique & refreshing investment sales strategies.
