Work Hard, Play Hard: Capital Pacific Fall Retreat
Secluded among the trees of Mount Tamalpais, high above the Bay Area, sits the West Point Inn. Built in 1906, the Inn was formerly a stopover for railroad passengers who rode the "Crookedest Railroad in the World" up from Mill Valley. It was also the site of an invigorating overnight retreat for Capital Pacific’s San Francisco team.
The weekend began with a short hike (or a vigorous bike ride) up the mountain, but the pace quickly slowed to a standstill. As we relaxed on the porch, our eyes feasted on the panoramic view as we savored wine and appetizers crafted by our personal chef. The hours melted away under a spectacular sunset, and by the time the Inn was enveloped in darkness (except for the soft glow of a few lanterns) it was time for more delicious food. A mouthwatering dinner was punctuated by toasts, jokes, song, and even a moving impersonation in honor of the Crocodile Hunter. Later on, there was time for more stories and relaxation, while some team members enjoyed a cutthroat game of glow-in-the-dark Frisbee.
The next morning, the smell of coffee, blueberry pancakes and bacon pulled tired bodies out of bed. After breakfast on the porch, we descended from above the clouds and back into civilization: rested, relaxed, and ready to get back to Real Estate!
